Atlee, the renowned director behind blockbuster hits Mersal, Bigil, and Jawan, has been making waves in the film industry for his ability to create films that resonate with audiences on a massive scale. Recently, during the Bengaluru Open 2025 event with India Today, Atlee shared his insights on his highly anticipated project AA22 X A6 and the ambitious vision he has for it.
Atlee revealed that the making of AA22 X A6 is not your usual filmmaking journey. Unlike traditional projects, the director emphasized that there is no existing “bible” or clear-cut guide to creating such a film. “We are shooting the film as planned and every step is a baby step. There is no bible for this kind of film. We have to incorporate a lot of bibles and work on pipelines on how to make this film,” Atlee stated.
He went on to express his excitement about offering something fresh and exciting to audiences: “We are trying to pull something bigger for the audience to give a new taste and a new visualisation.”
When asked whether he was nervous about the risks involved in making such a high-stakes film, Atlee’s response was clear and confident. He shared that rather than seeing it as a risky endeavor, he views it as an opportunity to push the envelope: “I don’t see it as a risky attempt. We are doing something new, which is very intriguing and addictive to watch.”
Atlee pointed out that his success with films like Raja Rani, Theri, Mersal, Bigil, and Jawan was largely driven by the audience’s expectations and encouragement. “The love that audiences give makes me do all this. They expect something out of me,” he explained.
Another exciting aspect of AA22 X A6 that Atlee revealed was the collaboration with Hollywood technicians. The director shared that working with international experts has brought a unique challenge to the project, further raising its stakes. “We are also working with a lot of Hollywood technicians. They are also feeling this as a challenge,” he said.
The project also stars Deepika Padukone, with speculation swirling about the involvement of other major stars such as Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur, and Janhvi Kapoor. However, official confirmations regarding their participation are still awaited.
