Having earned recognition as a versatile actor, Ankur Bhatia juggles two primary mediums of entertainment – OTT and the theatres. Bhatia who received rave reviews for his performance in the crime drama Aarya recalls his audition day for the role of Baldev in Omung Kumar‘s Sarbjit, as the Hindi drama clocks six years.
As the film completes six years, Ankur reveals that he sought blessings in a gurdwara before he auditioned for the special role.
Ankur shares, “It was my first film where I really had an important part to play, and after I received a brief about my role I went to a gurdwara to tie a pagri to look like a real Sardar and I did my audition. The most interesting part of the movie was that I could play the role in two different age groups. I was portraying the role of the young Baldev and, as well as Baldev in his 50s.”
Bhatia adds, “The film is special to me as it was a learning experience for me and I had a lovely time on the sets but most importantly the film is an emotional one and traces real-life tragedy of man and the pain, agony, and flickering hope that they have been through.”
Ankur is all set to stun the audiences with his whacky role as Vicky in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bloody Daddy starring Shahid Kapoor and also has an interesting lineup of films and OTT projects that are yet to be announced.
