Three new Hindi films – Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa, which were released in theatres this Thursday, have completed their opening weekend.
Featuring Shraddha Kapoor, and Rajkummar Rao, the horror-comedy film Stree 2 took a bumper start and did a business of Rs 55.40 crores nett on Thursday and also collected Rs 9.40 crores from previews on Wednesday evening. On Friday, Amar Kaushik’s directorial remained strong and collected Rs 35.30 crores.
Then on Saturday and Sunday, the film witnessed a weekend boost and collected Rs 45.70 crores and Rs 58.20 crores respectively. After 4 days, Stree 2 registered a total of Rs 204 crores nett across India.
In parallel, Akshay Kumar starrer Khel Khel Mein has failed to attract audience due to the Stree 2 storm. As a result, it opened on a poor note and bagged only Rs 5.23 crore on Thursday. Mudassar Aziz’s directorial raked Rs 2.42 crore on Friday, Rs 3.40 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.04 crore on Sunday, taking its 4-day total to Rs 15.09 crore nett.
On the other hand, John Abraham and Sharvari starrer action-drama film Vedaa also registered a very poor opening weekend of Rs 13.50 crore nett including Rs 6.75 crore on Thursday, Rs 1.50 crore on Friday, Rs 2.50 crore on Saturday, and Rs 2.75 crore on Sunday.
