The Lion King 17th Day Collection, Earns 139.20 Crores by 3rd Weekend in India!

After a very successful two weeks, the hugely-awaited Hollywood film The Lion King has passed its third weekend as well on a solid note despite the new Amercian release Hobbs & Shaw and registered a massive total of more than 139 crores nett at the Indian box office within 17 days of release.

Presented by Walt Disney, The Lion King has expectedly impressed everyone and gathered a strong word of mouth. As a result, it did the business of 81.57 crores in the opening week with 50.75 crores in the weekend and 30.82 crores on weekdays.

In the second week as well, The Lion King maintained an excellent pace and raked the business of 45.75 crores that included 32.70 crores in the weekend and 13.05 crores on weekdays. After 2 weeks, its total collection at the Indian box office was recorded at 127.32 crores nett.

The Disney’s traditionally animated 1994 film of the same name is now running in the third week and once again showed healthy growth over the weekend. On 3rd Friday, the film recorded normal drop than the previous day and managed to collect the amount of 1.76 crores.

On 3rd Saturday, as usual, The Lion King took a jump and minted 4.45 crores. While on 3rd Sunday, due to the public holiday, it got hit and bagged the amount of 5.67 crores. After the 3rd weekend, the total collection of Jon Favreau’s directorial has become 139.20 crores nett in India.
