Super 30’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Mrunal Thakur, hits the screens today i.e 12 July 2019. Based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational program Super 30. Here is our review.
Plot:- Super 30 is the story of a selfless man fighting for the cause of education-for-all. The year is 1996. Anand Kumar (Hrithik Roshan) has completed his graduation and is passionate about mathematics. He’s so good in the subject that he is felicitated at the hands of the education minister (Pankaj Tripathi). Anand manages to solve a complex mathematical problem, which has baffled scholars all around the world. His feat lands him a seat in the prestigious Cambridge University.
Life had other plans for Anand, as, after suffering a personal tragedy he’s left with not many options. A local coaching owner picks him up and offers a job as a teacher. But, even that wasn’t he wanted so he moves towards his aim creating some good and many bad friends. He leads a group of 30 students, educating them for free to prepare for IIT’s entrance exam. How he dodges the obstacles and reach till the finish line is what the story is all about.
Performance:- Acting of Hrithik Roshan is outstanding and 100 marks to him!. He proves that he’s still the same enthusiastic actor brimming with his natural ways of making a character his own. Nandish Singh as Hrithik’s brother delivers a confident performance. His smart and sensible screen presence aids the leads to do their job.
Mrunal Thakur (Rashmi) suits the part and delivers a decent performance. It’s a very small role but has a relevance to the story. Pankaj Tripathi owns every scene he is in. Not a big role, but a memorable one. Watch out for an outstanding scene between him and Aditya Shrivastava (CID Fame).
Direction:- The direction of Vikas Bahl is decent and could have been better. He leads some brilliant emotional sequences, too, but overall there’s something missing.
Music:- Ajay-Atul’s music is not of chartbuster variety and one wishes the film had one chartbuster, theme-like song. ‘Jugraafiya’ is the best of the lot. ‘Paisa’ is situational. ‘Question Mark’ seems like a good idea on paper but execution is weak. ‘Niyam Ho’ is played at a crucial juncture. ‘Basanti No Dance’ is horrible. Ajay-Atul’s background score is a bit loud but correctly makes the impact.
Final Words:- On the whole, Super 30 is such a good film including Brilliant, Inspiring with Powerful Performance. A brilliant moments with strong emotional quotient. This one’s an absolute must watch for the youngster.
