The major release of this Friday, Student Of The Year 2 has got failed to impress the critics also not getting desired response from the audience across the country. On Friday take a good start at the box office, the movie witnessed a fair growth on Saturday and took its total to a decent mark.
Directed by Punit Malhotra, the second instalment in the franchise begun in 2012 with Student Of The Year stars Tiger Shroff along with two new pretty faces Tara Sutaria & Ananya Panday. SOTY 2 was distributed by Fox Star Studios and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions.
Student Of The Year 2 was released on Friday with huge expectations, as Bollywood has given only few hits in this year so far. On the opening day, it took good start with 35% occupancy and did the business of 12.06 crores from 3200 screens across the country.
Then on the next day i.e. Saturday, due to mixed reviews the movie has witnessed fair growth and garnered the business of 14.02 crores with slight jump in footfalls. After 2 days of release, total collection of Student Of The Year 2 is recorded as 26.08 crores nett at domestic box office.
Well, the numbers might get affected today due to the IPL finale which might hamper the weekend total. But nevertheless, the film is being appreciated by the viewers. As long as the film can come close to the Saturday collections on Sunday as well, it would be good enough hold for Student of the Year 2, hence setting the stage for eventful weekdays ahead.
