Serval reports surfaced yesterday indicating that the Ishaan Khatter starrer Pippa would be available on OTT, due to a dispute with multiplex owner. But now, a formal announcement was made regarding the same. All of these rumours have been denied by the producers.
Producers Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur along with Kamal Gianchandani of PVR Inox who also represents the Multiplex Association Of India (MAI) have issued a statement. It reads, “RSVP and Roy Kapur Films have no ongoing issues with multiplex operators. Any rumours or articles suggesting otherwise are baseless and unfounded.”
“We are all committed to working together to bring quality content to audiences in cinema across India. Pippa is a film that has been made for the big screen and an official announcement about the release date will be made soon,” they concluded.
Pippa’ is based on a true story and is a biopic on Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. Ishaan plays his role in the film, which revolves around the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.
The film is directed by Raja Krishna Menon and also stars Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan apart from Ishaan. AR Rahman has helmed the film’s music.
