After a good opening on Friday, American fantasy adventure comedy film Jumanji: The Next Level has recorded a jump in business on Saturday. Despite a new Hindi offering Mardaani 2 in the parallel along with several holdover titles, the Hollywood film has diverted the major audience toward itself across India.
On Friday, Jumanji 2 was opened at a good note with around 25% of occupancy in the morning. Post noon shows, it had witnessed a good growth and did the business of 5.05 crores nett (6.20 crores nett incl. Thu previews). On Saturday, it has recorded a good jump and minted the amount of 8.35 crores.
After 2 days, the total collection of Sony Pictures’ presentation has become 14.55 crores nett at the Indian box office. As per the current trend, it is all set to register a good opening weekend and expected to remain steady on weekdays as well.
In parallel, there is Rani Mukerji starrer Hindi offering Mardaani 2 which had registered a decent opening of 3.80 crores on Friday. On Saturday, it managed to rake the amount of 6.55 crores from the Indian screens and raised 2 days total collection to 10.35 crores.
On the other hand, Emraan Hashmi, Rishi Kapoor and Vedhika Kumar starrer The Body has got failed to entertain the audience as well as critics completely and received mixed reviews. As a result, it did the opening business of only 0.50 crores. On the next day i.e. Saturday, it has raked and the amount of 0.75 crores and raised 2 days total collection to 1.25 crores.
