Badhaai Do, directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, has released in cinema halls last Friday. Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar have been paired opoosite each other for the first time in the film which revolves around a lavender wedding of convenience.
Badhaai Do is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Badhaai Ho, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra in 2018. The film, which is about a couple in a lavender marriage, has received great reviews from many critis reviewers, but public reaction has been mixed.
Junglee Pictures’ presentation, Badhaai Do has shown positive trending over the first weekend. From 1.65 crores on Friday to 2.72 crores on Saturday, the film has jumped further to 3.45 crores on Sunday. As a result, the total currently stands at 7.82 crores.
The film has chances to have a run for a couple of weeks ahead of Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi releasing on February 25. Also, It will be interesting to see if Badhaai Do will be able to do good numbers on Monday, which is Valentine’s Day.
RajKummar also thanked his fans for stepping out to see his film. He shared a transformation pic on Instagram and wrote, “The best feeling in the world is, when you give your heart and soul to a film and to your character and get so much love in return from the audience. Thank you guys.”
