The wait for one of the most anticipated trailers of 2021 has come to an end for Rajini fans and moviegoers alike. It’s fair to say that superstar Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe trailer is the year’s big trailer, which Rajini fans and moviegoers have been anticipating for months.
Talking about the trailer, the 2 Minute 41-second trailer promises that the film is a complete mass entertainer. The trailer introduces Rajinikanth in the role of Kaalaiyan, a village president who is devoted to his village folk and family, especially his sister, played by Keerthy Suresh. When their peaceful existence comes under threat from a villain (Jagapathi Babu), all hell breaks loose, as Kalaiyan seeks revenge.
Annaatthe is directed by Siva and produced by Kalanithi Maran. It also stars Prakash Raj, Meena, Khushbu, Vela Ramamoorthy, George Maryan and Kabali Vishwanath, among others.
The film’s shoot began on 11 December 2019 on the eve of Rajinikanth’s birthday and it was shut down mid-way due to the pandemic.
Shooting resumed in December 2020 and Annaatthe was initially to release during Dussehra and later it was announced that it would hit theatres during Diwali on 4 November, 2021.
