Sunny Deol is set to explore a different dramatic space with his upcoming crime thriller Suryaa. The makers unveiled the film’s motion poster on October 12, offering a first look at the actor in a rugged, weathered avatar. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 20, 2026.
Departing from his familiar larger-than-life screen image, Sunny appears with long, weathered features and an intense, brooding gaze in the motion poster. The visuals hint at a character caught between his past and present, with buried truths and unanswered questions forming the crux of the narrative. The tagline, “अंत से आरंभ तक”, further underscores the mystery surrounding his character and the events that shape his journey.
Sharing the motion poster, Sunny Deol wrote, “Torn between Past and Present, He uncovers the TRUTH! Presenting SURYAA: अंत से आरंभ तक! IN CINEMAS 20th November 2026.”
According to the makers, the story follows a man whose search for answers gradually draws him into a complicated web of revelations. What begins as an investigation takes him into territory beyond his initial expectations, setting the stage for a crime drama that combines mystery, emotional conflict and confrontation.
Producer Kamal Mukut also spoke about the film’s association with Sunny Deol, revealing that he had signed the actor for two projects, Gadar 2 and SURYAA. The team began with Gadar 2, and the experience subsequently paved the way for the crime thriller.
“I signed Sunny Deol for two films — Gadar 2 and SURYAA. We began with Gadar 2, and it became history. Motivated by its success, and drawing upon my experience of more than five decades in the industry, I created SURYAA — a story of a common man that will surely touch every life. The film takes the audience through a never-before-seen avatar of Sunny Deol, interestingly woven across three phases of his life journey. This gripping thriller is designed to transport audiences into two different eras,” Mukut said.
The film’s narrative reportedly unfolds across three phases of Sunny Deol’s character’s life, with two different eras forming part of the story. While the motion poster offers limited details about the plot, the actor’s altered appearance and the emphasis on his character’s past suggest a role centred on investigation and personal revelations.
Suryaa also features Ravi Kishan and Pragya Jaiswal. The film is directed by M. Padmakumar and produced by MM Moviez, with Deepak Mukut, Hemmant Mukut and Lokesh Mukut serving as producers alongside Kamal Mukut.
With its motion poster now unveiled, Suryaa is set to release theatrically on November 20, 2026.
