MCU Fans Treated To Surprise VisionQuest Premiere at NYCC Ahead of 14th Oct Debut; Marvel TV Announces Zodiac, Marvel Zombies

Cast and filmmakers from upcoming Marvel Television and Marvel Animation series coming to Disney+descended upon the Empire Stage at New York Comic Con earlier today for a special panel highlighting the eagerly anticipated titles, which included a surprise screening of Episode 1 of “VisionQuest,” the all-new original series debuting 14th October. The panel was followed by a special Marvel NYCC Reception at the city’s Yacht Club.

Head of Marvel Television, Animation and Comics Brad Winderbaum kicked things off by starting where everything starts—with the comics. He brought Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Stephen Wacker up for a quick preview of the upcoming Marvel Comics announcements to come over the weekend, before diving into some exciting announcements:

“Zodiac,” a new live-action series from Marvel Television, is currently casting and set to go into production in 2027. “Zodiac” is coming to Disney+ in 2028. Marvel Animation’s “Marvel Zombies” is set to come back for three more two-part special events: “Marvel Zombies: Winter Soldier” for Halloween 2027, “Marvel Zombies: Fist of Khonshu” for Halloween 2028, and “Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian” for Halloween 2029.

Winderbaum also shared an early look at Marvel Animation’s hit series “X-Men ’97” Season 3 exclusively for the over 3,000 fans in attendance, before handing it off to moderator Brandon Davis from The Brandon Davis Show, who brought up showrunner Jeff Trammell to talk about Season 2 of “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.” Trammell announced Season 2 of the series will debut on Disney+ 13th January, 2027, and debuted the poster for the series before screening an exclusive preview.

Davis then brought out the cast from the final season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” bringing together members of the Defenders for an on-stage reunion: Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, and Finn Jones came out to share an exclusive look at the upcoming third season, streaming on Disney+ in 2027.

Then The Vision himself, Paul Bettany, and Ultron, James Spader, joined showrunner Terry Matalas and co-stars Ruaridh Mollica and Emily Hampshire on stage for a panel discussion, which included an exclusive preview of the series. The cast then announced that the New York Comic Con fans in attendance would be treated to a surprise screening of Episode 1, before gifting everyone with an exclusive mini-poster as they exited the convention center.

Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.

“VisionQuest” stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire and James D’Arcy. The series is directed byChristopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, Terry Matalas, and written by Terry Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti, and Matthew Okumura. “VisionQuest” is created for television by Terry Matalas, based on the Marvel Comics. The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Paul Bettany, Mary Livanos, Terry Matalas, Jac Schaeffer, and Christopher J. Byrne, and the producer is Roopesh Parekh.

VisionQuest will be available to stream on JioHotstar in India on 14th October, in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
