The much-awaited announcement of Kiccha Sudeepa’s next ambitious project has arrived, and it promises to take audiences back to one of the most celebrated eras in Indian history. Titled Devaraaya, the upcoming historical saga will see Sudeepa portraying the legendary Vijayanagara emperor Sri Krishna Devaraya.
People Media Factory made the announcement on social media with a striking first-look poster, describing the project as the story of “an empire that shaped history, a king who defined an era, and a legend who lives beyond time.”
The announcement was made on the occasion of Sudeepa’s birthday, adding further significance to the reveal.
The first-look poster presents Sudeepa in a grand royal avatar, dressed in elaborate period costume and an intricately designed traditional headgear. The imposing visual immediately establishes the scale and historical setting of the film, while Sudeepa’s intense appearance adds to the anticipation surrounding the project.
Devaraaya is being produced by Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the banners of People Media Factory and Supriyanvi Picture Studio. The technical team includes Gowra Hari, who has been announced as the film’s music composer.
Interestingly, while the makers have revealed several key details about the project—including the title, lead actor, character, producers, music composer, production banners and release window—the director’s name has been kept under wraps.
The film is being positioned as a spectacular saga centred on power, glory and legacy, with the makers promising its theatrical release in December 2027.
