The wait for Mirzapur fans is officially over. Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios have unveiled the official Hindi trailer for Mirzapur: The Movie, bringing the gritty crime world of Purvanchal to the big screen. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film extension of the blockbuster streaming franchise is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide on September 4, 2026 in both Hindi and Telugu.
The three-minute trailer brings back the original dynamics that established the franchise, recalibrating the power struggle between the ruling Tripathi empire and emerging challengers on a cinematic scale.
The story centers on the control of Mirzapur, where Akhandanand “Kaleen Bhaiya” Tripathi attempts to protect his domain alongside his son, Munna Tripathi. Meanwhile, Guddu Pandit and Bablu Pandit lead a rising opposition, setting up a high-stakes war for dominance across the region’s illegal trade and political networks.
The ensemble cast of Mirzapur: The Movie features a mix of returning fan favorites and notable new additions to the franchise. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, Rasika Dugal, Ali Fazal, Jitendra Kumar, and Shweta Tripathi, alongside Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Ravi Kishan, with additional performances from Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chadha, Pramod Pathak, and Harshita Gaur.
Written by Puneet Krishna, the cinematic extension serves as a major theatrical event for Excel Entertainment. Co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, Mirzapur: The Movie aims to bring the violent action, dark humor, and suspense of the original narrative to the big screen.
