Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios have unveiled the first look of Daayra, an upcoming Hindi crime thriller directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Meghna Gulzar.
The striking poster features Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran positioned on opposite sides of a cordoned-off crime scene, offering the first glimpse into the film’s tense investigative world. The visual hints at a gripping narrative where two parallel investigations gradually converge on a single truth.
Inspired by true events, Daayra revolves around a high-profile investigation that triggers polarising reactions across society. The film explores themes of public perception, moral ambiguity, and the search for truth against the backdrop of an intense crime thriller.
Sharing the first-look poster on Instagram, Kareena Kapoor Khan wrote, “Two faces. Two sides. One truth. Daayra arrives in cinemas on 18th September.”
The screenplay has been written by Yash Keswani, Sima Agarwal, and Meghna Gulzar. The film marks Gulzar’s third collaboration with Junglee Pictures after the critically acclaimed Talvar and Raazi.
Principal photography commenced in late September 2025 and concluded in December 2025. The supporting cast includes Aarti Desai and Padma.
Produced by Junglee Pictures and Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios, and distributed by Pen Marudhar, Daayra is slated for a theatrical release on September 18, 2026.
