Producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari have officially unveiled the long-awaited trailer for their epic cinematic adaptation, Ramayana, setting the stage for a grand theatrical debut in Diwali 2026.
The blockbuster project features a power-packed ensemble cast spanning Indian cinema, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as the formidable demon king Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
Rocking Star Yash is also co-producing the film through Monster Mind Creations alongside Prime Focus Studios.
In a historical first for Indian cinema, the film’s background score and soundtrack are composed by two-time Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer alongside Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman. Renowned poet Kumar Vishwas handles the lyrics, with famed sitarist Rishab Rikhiram Sharma featured on the instrumental score.
The screenplay has been adapted by Shridhar Raghavan alongside director Nitesh Tiwari (Dangal, Chhichhore).
Presented by Prime Focus Studios in association with Monster Mind Creations, the film will receive a massive international release. Sony Pictures Entertainment will manage global distribution, while Dharma Productions handles the distribution across Northern India. The music rights have been acquired by T-Series.
