Awarapan 2: 'Ve Junoon' The First Song From Emraan Hashmi's Most Awaited Film – OUT NOW!

The teaser of the film, released on 29th June on the 19th anniversary of the original Awarapan, triggered a response that told its own story. Audiences described the teaser as ‘goosebumps,’ welcomed the return of ‘The OG Emraan Hashmi’; and repeatedly expressed one prevailing sentiment: that it wasn’t merely trading on nostalgia, but honouring the emotion and legacy of the original Awarapan and beautifully unfolds the spirit and anticipation for Ve Junoon’s release.

Ve Junoon captures Shivam Pandit’s vulnerability, a man confronting his deepest fears and wondering if love was ever a door he was meant to walk through. The song portrays an emotional crossroads of his journey, setting the tone for everything that follows. Mithoon, whose music has shaped some of the most enduring emotional moments in Vishesh Films’ legacy, returns with his unmistakable compositional instinct, finding the melody that exists in the delicate space between heartbreak and hope.

Sayeed Quadri, who penned ‘Tera Mera Rishta’ and ‘Toh Phir Aao’ for the original Awarapan nineteen years ago. With Ve Junoon, he once again writes with remarkable emotional precision, crafting lyrics that don’t merely describe a feeling, they become it.

Bringing Ve Junoon to life is a voice that the world will hear in an entirely new light, Subodhh Sharma. A sound engineer for over 12 years, was discovered after Vishesh Bhatt came across an Instagram reel featuring his vocals. The honesty in his voice struck an immediate chord with both Vishesh and Mithoon, making him the natural choice to bring Shivam’s emotions to life in Ve Junoon.

Composer Mithoon said: “Creating the music for Awarapan 2 stems from a very special creative chemistry we share. Vishesh creates a deeply emotional world, and Quadri Sahab has this rare ability to turn the most complex emotions into words that feel simple and personal. With ‘Ve Junoon’, we knew the voice had to carry pain and vulnerability, but also a certain strength. When we heard Subodhh, there was an honesty in his voice that connected immediately with the emotion of the song. For me, that instinctive connection was all that mattered.”

Producer Vishesh Bhatt said: “The music of Awarapan is the emotional memory of an entire generation. To create this magic for Awarapan 2, we needed the musical instinct of Mithoon and the poetic authority of Sayeed Quadri. Ve Junoon is the result of that brilliance, elevated by Subodhh’s voice. He carries something rare and raw that no amount of experience can teach. You either have it or you don’t. And he does.”

Ve Junoon is out now on all streaming platforms via Sony Music India.
