The mythological thriller ‘Jatadhara’ has demonstrated commendable stability at the box office, successfully holding its ground on its second day of release. Despite facing competition from other films, the film’s Day 2 gross collection stands firm at Rs 1.44 Crore, a negligible drop from its opening day earnings of Rs 1.47 Crore. This consistent performance brings the film’s two-day gross total to a respectable Rs 2.91 crore.

The stability is particularly notable given the difficult box office environment, as Jatadhara is battling two other releases—the romantic film ‘The Girlfriend’ and the Hindi movie ‘Haq’. The film has found a strong audience in the Telugu market, where its box office performance is currently reported as “neck-and-neck” with The Girlfriend.
However, the Hindi version of ‘Jatadhara‘ is doing far better than Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘The Girlfriend’. While Prerna Arora’s film earned Rs 0.33 cr net on Day 2 in Hindi, Rashmika’s film hardly eked out Rs 0.10 cr net.
Furthermore, the film has managed to achieve these reasonable numbers despite carrying an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate, which often limits viewership.
The creators attribute this positive reception to the film’s content, which is “rooted in Indian mythology and is liked by all sections” of the audience.
This success follows in the footsteps of the previous Telugu spiritual HIT ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’.
Produced by Zee Studios in association with Prerna Arora, Umesh KR Bansal, Rajiv Agarwal, Shivin Narang, and Nikhil Nanda, the film stars Sudheer Babu as Shiva, alongside Sonakshi Sinha in her Telugu debut as the antagonist Dhanapisachi.
