As War completes six years since its blockbuster release in 2019, Hrithik Roshan has shared a deeply introspective note about reprising his role as the enigmatic spy Kabir in War 2. Reflecting on the journey, Hrithik spoke about how returning to the character felt surprisingly effortless — and how that very ease stirred unexpected emotions beneath the surface.

“Playing Kabir was so much fun. So relaxed, knew him so well. It was going to be easy. Finally, a movie I could do like so many others do — keep it simple, play the actor, do your job and come home,” he wrote.
Hrithik credited War 2 director Ayan Mukerji for creating a smooth and creatively fulfilling environment on set. “I was taken care of so well by my director Ayaan. It was such a pleasure to have his energy on set. Everything seemed so perfect. Like it’s meant to be. A sure shot. No worries, just needed to do my job right. Which of course, I did.”
But beneath the ease and familiarity, Hrithik admitted there was a lingering internal voice — a quiet doubt questioning the comfort he was experiencing. “But something was lurking behind that presumptuous certainty. A voice that I kept shutting out. This is too easy… I know this too well.”
He continued, acknowledging a conflicting thought: that perhaps he had earned the right to not always struggle for his art. “Another that said I deserve it, every film doesn’t have to be a torture and trauma and an incessant search for the truth of the moment. Just relax.”
The post ends with two telling hashtags: #War2 and #Kabir, suggesting that the actor is still in the process of reconciling his internal expectations with the role that helped redefine action cinema in Bollywood.
