The Ba***ds of Bollywood: Aryan Khan’s Directorial Debut Drops Teaser, Sets Netflix Premiere for Sept 18

Shah Rukh Khan and Netflix have unveiled the first preview teaser for “The Ba***ds of Bollywood,” the anticipated directorial debut from the Bollywood superstar’s son Aryan Khan, while confirming a Sept. 18 premiere date.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood: Aryan Khan’s Directorial Debut Drops Teaser, Sets Netflix Premiere for Sept 18

The teaser drop comes alongside the reveal of a star-studded ensemble cast announced by Shah Rukh Khan, including Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Rajat Bedi and Gautami Kapoor, with Salman Khan and Karan Johar in cameos.

The Red Chillies Entertainment production sees Aryan Khan serving as creator and director alongside co-creators Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, with all three sharing writing duties on the series.

The series bills itself as an underdog story exploring how far one will go for their dreams while navigating Bollywood’s darker elements.

“With ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ I wanted to build a world that feels alive, a mix of glitz and grit, where ambition shines, egos clash, and nothing is ever as it seems,” said Aryan Khan. “In Netflix, we found a partner who shared our creative vision — helping us tell the story exactly how it needed to be told, raw, stylized, and something the world has never experienced before.”

“It’s a proud moment to see Aryan carve out his vision with such clarity and edge,” Shah Rukh Khan said. “This is storytelling that’s sharp, self-aware, and unapologetically bold, and I think audiences on Netflix will connect to the heart of it as much as its style.”

The series represents the sixth collaboration between Netflix and the Khans’ Red Chillies Entertainment, following “Bard of Blood,” “Darlings,” “Bhakshak,” “Betaal” and “Class of ’83.”

Gauri Khan produces, with Bonnie Jain and Akshat Verma serving as executive producers. The soundtrack, released by T-Series, features compositions by Shashwat Sachdev with guest contributions from Anirudh Ravichander and Ujwal Gupta.

Netflix India VP of content Monika Shergill said: “When Aryan Khan shared his vision for his directorial debut, we knew we were setting the stage for something special and disruptive,” she said. “‘Ba***ds’ is witty, bold, and unlike anything audiences have seen before — a true roast-and-toast to Bollywood. It’s a story bursting with love, drama, passion, ambition, family, and friendship.”
