Two Bollywood movies – Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se and Stree released on Friday. The former one, which is backed by the popular franchise has opened on a low note, while the latter with an unusual plot took a solid start across the country.
Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. under the banner of Maddock Films, the movie is based on a witch who knocks on people’s doors at night. Stree stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee.
On the opening day, this horror comedy collected the business of only 6.82 crore. On the second day, as expected Amar Kaushik’s directorial showed impressive jump and garnered the business of 10.87 crores. With this, Stree has raised it’s 2 days total collection to 17.69 crores at domestic box office.
Dharmendra, Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol starrer Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is the third installment of franchise Yamla Pagla Deewana. Despite the high buzz, it opened on a very low note and also received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience.
On the opening day, this comedy drama recorded dull start and minted the amount of 1.82 crores with overall 10-12% of occupancy. Then on Saturday due to a partial holiday, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se witnessed little growth and raked the business of 2.27 crores to make it’s 2 days domestic total 4.09 crores.
