Thala Ajith’s recent offering Vivegam has been released this Thursday with huge excitement of his fans. It is one of the most anticipated Tamil movies of 2017, so it had good pre-release buzz among audience and received favorable response from them. The action thriller Vivegam starring Vivek Oberoi, Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan in lead roles alongside Ajith and all of them have received huge appreciation from viewers for their performances.
With positive reviews of critics, the movie gained strong word of mouth and attracted good amount of audience. Siva’s directorial Vivegam had registered overall good business in its opening weekend. It started the journey with more than 85-90% of occupancy on around 800 screens across Tamil Nadu and did the business of 17.20 crores.
On the second day, unfortunately it faced abrupt drop and minted the amount of 10 crores. On Saturday, due to weekend time the movie showed some jump in its business graph and made the business of 11 crores. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, Vivegam remained almost steady and minted the amount of 11.50 crores.
After the weekend, total collection of this action drama was recorded as 49.70 crores. Now it is running in weekdays and asusual witnessing lesser occupancy in theaters than weekend. On Monday the movie faced almost 35% of drop and collected the amount of 6.50 crores. With further declination, Vivegam grossed the amount of 5.50 crores and made its 6 days total collection as 61.70 crores at TN box office.
The movie features Ajith Kumar as primary lead. Vivegam tracks the life story of an Interpol officer (Ajith Kumar) and a set of events in his life. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek Oberoi and Akshara Haasan in pivotal roles. The movie has been shot in Europe and Hyderabad.
The film which released in over 3000 screens worldwide was made on a budget of Rs 100 crore. The movie saw massive advance bookings for the weekend. Vivegam is Ajith’s third collaboration with director Sivakumar Jayakumar. They have previously worked together in Veeram and Vedhalam.
