In recent times, thanks to his humongous fan following, Ajith has become synonymous to box office success. After tasting success with Veeram and Yennai Arindhaal, Ajith has struck the bull’s eye yet again with his latest Diwali release Vedalam. After getting a record breaking opening of Rs 15.5 crore on Day 1, trade experts claim that Ajith’s Vedalam has crossed Rs 50 crore mark in six days at box office. While the masala entertainer had a terrific start on Day 1, the incessant rains and terrible floods have eaten into the collection of Vedalam. According to trade expert Ramesh, Vedalam will surpass Rs 85 crore mark worldwide with in the first week of release. He tweeted,” #Vedalam is looking at 80 to 85+ Crs World-wide for the 6-day opening weekend.. Humongous by any standards.. #WeekendWithVeeramAndVedalam”. Meanwhile, the other Diwali release, Kamal Haasan’s Thoongaavanam has been doing decent business at box office and is said to have minted around Rs 19-20 crore worldwide in three days. Looking at the progress of Ajith’s Vedalam at box office, the film might cross the magical Rs 100 crore figure worldwide.

This drama story with superb acting skills and action has been appreciated by most of the audience and this reflects clearly in the total income of the film in 1 week. Vedalam has managed to get listed in the good movie list of the Kollywood film industry and in one week the figures claimed by the film are positive. Film was expected to beat many records and it did made good records with opening day collections. The film earned outstanding figures in first weekend and then dropped slightly due to weekdays. Today is the Eighth day of release of Vedalam and total Wednesday collection of film is near 2.50+ Crores*. Film has earned some income from the international countries also which has helped it in increasing its total gross income of first week. As the weekend is near to come again so the film is expected to face a rise in its occupancy level and income report by the next few days. Rest depends upon the audience attitude towards the film in this coming weekend.
