Udta Punjab 7th Day Collection: First Week Total Box Office Report

First Week: Collection Report of Udta Punjab

Udta Punjab went through a lot of upheavals before its release. The CBFC had a lot of issues with the film’s language and content. The abusive lingo made them very uncomfortable. If that wasn’t enough, the fact that it showed the substance use rampant in the state made Pahlaj Nihalani lose it completely. They wanted 89 cuts on it which obviously was reduced to just one, thanks to Bombay High Court. While they were just enjoying the win, the film was made available in pirated version two days before release.

But despite all that, the film managed to score good on its first day and even wrapped up the first weekend on a big note. Now after six days, the film is speeding towards the 50 crore mark. Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab has dropped further on its 1st Wednesday at the box office. The film collected (Fri 10.05 cr, Sat 11.25 cr, Sun 12.50 cr, Mon 4.50 cr, Tue 4 cr, Wed 3.40 cr. and now stands with the grand total of 45.70 crores at the domestic box office.

Nevertheless, there is a great advantage for Udta Punjab, as there are no big upcoming releases, which will definitely help the film to add more collections for itself at the box office. On Thursday opening of the film is 25-30% which is very great for starting the day. Plus with day progressing, film showed huge jump in collection from Noon shows onwards as it is a business day. Today being the seventh working day for the film, Udta Punjab Thursday Box Office Collection was recorded at 2.95 Crores*.

Udta Punjab has opened to very good occupancy of 35-40% in Mumbai in Morning shows. Occupancy in Delhi for the same is around 45%. In Gurgaon film has opened to 30%+ occupancy in Morning shows. Averagely Advance Booking report is coming in for later part of the day and many shows are expected to be Houseful in the coming days due to another weekend. . Udta Punjab is produced Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles.
