With such heavy promotions, obviously it was not difficult for Salman Khan starrer latest war drama movie Tubelight to open up with a good amount. The movie has released this Friday on around 5550 screens across the globe, that includes 4350 screens of India and rest 1200 of overseas. It has received mixed reviews from most of critics as well as moviegoers, but still some are disappointed with the direction. If you are Bollywood lover, you can not skip Salman Khan’s movie, that is the reason audience showing immense excitement for his latest offering Tubelight.

Tubelight 2nd Day Collection

But after watching the movie, their reviews do not reflect that much excitement. No doubt Salman Khan has given brilliant performance as the character and is being praised by everyone for that but story of the movie is disappointing. Tubelight is getting complete benefit of the presence of superstar in it, otherwise it could be another disaster from Salman Khan Films & Kabir Khan Films. Fans of Salman Khan are showing big thumbs up for the movie and creating huge buzz about it on social media, but that won’t work for long.

Being a non-masala movie with average music, Tubelight is not getting much response on single screens. The major contribution in the business is being made from metro cities. On its opening day, despite non-holiday Tubelight opened up with 45-50% of occupancy across India. From evening shows it received decent growth and minted the total opening collection of 21.15 cr.

While it was predicted that at least 25 crore would be there for the taking, the fact that the film saw lower collections in comparison pretty much signifies that it would be a task in itself for a major turnaround in days to come. On Saturday, the movie witnessed slight jump in its response and raked the business of 21.17 crores as its second day collection on Indian screens. After 2 days, total domestic collection of Tubelight is recorded as 42.32 crores.

There are two big holidays coming up in the form of Sunday and Monday [Eid]. However, with word of mouth spreading fast and critic as well as audience reviews not quite being glowing, one waits to see how much of the momentum picks up today for the Kabir Khan film.
