Kabir Khan’s directorial war drama movie Tubelight has already completed its 2 weeks journey at box office with overall decent performance. Being superstar Salman Khan starrer and heavily promoted, it was expected to be blockbuster but unfortunately it has not come out in the same way. Due to initial buzz, the movie started on a good note but got failed to maintain its pace for long.
It is not easy to digest that Salman’s movie has lost almost all its hold over audience in just 2 weeks of release. Tubelight set against the backdrop of Sino-Indian war during 1962. It is completely opposite to Salman’s usual offerings, has no masala and this is why viewers haven’t found it entertaining. Along with Salman, it stars Sohail Khan, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu, late Om Puri, Isha Talwar and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
In the opening week, Kabir Khan’s directorial Tubelight had reported overall good response and registered the business of 106.86 cr, including 64.77 cr of weekend and 42.09 cr of weekdays. In the second week, it performed lower and collected the total of 11.65 cr, that includes 8.25 cr of weekend and 3.40 cr of weekdays. After 2 weeks domestic total collection of Tubelight was recorded as 118.51 crores.
Now Kabir Khan Films’ this latest venture is running in the third week and as expected getting very low occupancy in theaters because latest release Mom, Guest Iin London and Hollywood Biggie Spiderman: Homecoming are getting well. On Friday it received more drop than Thursday and minted the amount of 0.25 cr. On the next day i.e. Saturday being weekend the day resulted out in almost similar and added the amount of 0.21 cr to its account.
