Kabir Khan’ latest collaboration with superstar Salman Khan has not resulted out well. The last week released movie ‘Tubelight‘ is not getting much response at box office and after 10 days of release, it is still far way from the mark of 115 cr. Most of the critics have not found it up to the mark and rated it with low stars. As a result, the film has crashed too early at box office.
Although it completed the week on a good-enough note but as compare to his enormous stardom, it has disappointed everyone. The movie raked the business of total 106.86 cr on 4350 screens across India, including 64.77 crores of weekend and 42.09 crores of weekdays. In overseas, it has been released on 1200 screens and minted the total collection of 39 cr in a week.
Now it is running in its second week and just passed its second weekend on a decent note. On Friday, it witnessed an average response and minted the amount of 2.15 crores. On Saturday it received little higher and did the business of 2.84 crores as its 9th day collection. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, being holiday it added 3.26 crores to its account. After 10 days, total collection of Tubelight is recorded as 115.11 cr at domestic box office.
Just when Salman was turning out to be a hit machine with back to back 200 and 300 crore grossers, this film has come as a setback for him. One had observed a similar trend for Jai Ho which also failed miserably at the box office. Though the film’s collections are not up to the mark, it has still managed to become the 6th highest grosser of 2017. Tubelight has beaten the lifetime biz of Hindi Medium, Half Girlfriend etc.
