After an excellent opening week, last week released much awaited Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is still has complete hold over the audience despite several new offerings. The movie is running successfully across the country, also has become Akshay Kumar’s 5th back to back 100 crore grosser at the Indian box office.
Being superstar Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was released with immense excitement of fans as well as audience. As expected it has witnessed favorable response from everyone and received very positive reviews from critics. As a result, it gained strong word of mouth and performed excellently throughout the opening week.
With impressive growth over the opening weekend, Shree Narayan Singh’s directorial reported the business of 51.45 crores from Indian screens, which was including 13.10 crores of Friday, 17.10 crores of Saturday and 21.25 crores of Sunday. Then in weekdays also, it remained strong and did the business of 12 crores on Monday (Krishna Janmashtami), 20 crores on Tuesday (Independence Day), 6.50 crores on Wednesday and 6.10 crores on Thursday.
After the first week, total collection of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was recorded as 96.05 crores on domestic box office. Now the movie is running in the second week and once again enjoying weekend. On its 2nd Friday, it faced around 34.50% of drop than previous day and managed to collect the decent amount of 4 crores.
On the next day i.e. 2nd Saturday, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha showed good growth and minted the amount of 6.75 crores, which has made its 9 days net domestic total as 106.80 crores. With which it has surpassed the lifetime total of Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam’s romantic drama Kaabil (103.84 crores) at domestic box office.
