Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (TEPK) 6th Day Collection, Akshay’s Film Stays Strong on Wednesday

After an excellent weekend, Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer recent offering Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is heading steadily in weekdays. The movie was released with immense excitement of fans as well as audience and as expected witnessed favorable response of them across the country. Most of the critics have also reacted in its favor, which generated good word of mouth about it.

Due to high initial buzz, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha started it’s journey on a solid note and registered the sixth highest opening of the year so far with 13.10 crores. In the opening weekend with good footfalls throughout, it did an impressive business of 51.45 crores from more than 3000 screens in India, which was including 13.10 crores of Friday, 17.10 crores of Saturday and 21.25 crores of Sunday.

From international market also, this Shree Narayan Singh’s venture has reported quite good business of 14.59 crores first 4 days of release. Now the movie is running in weekdays and asusual getting lesser occupancy in theaters than weekend. On Monday there was a holiday due to Krishna Janmashtami festival, so director Shree Narayan Singh’s this satirical romantic drama remained strong and raked the business of 12 crores.

Then on Tuesday (Independence Day) once again the movie witnessed exceptional growth and garnered the business of 20 crores. On the next day i.e. Wednesday, with further drop it minted the amount of 6.50 crores. After this, 6 days total collection of the movie has become 89.95 crores on domestic box office.

This film is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha marked Akshay Kumar’s first collaboration with Bhumi Pednekar. The film also starred Anupam Kher, Divyendu Sharma, Sudhir Pandey and Sana Khan. The social drama marked Akshay Kumar’s second release this year after Jolly LLB 2
