After showing excellent performance in early weeks, superstar Akshay Kumar’s second offering of the year Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is heading decently across the country. The movie has faced considerable drop in footfalls due to new releases, but still has enough hold over the audience and increasing its business total with each single day.
With its good content and wonderful performances by the lead actors Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, the movie has impressed all its viewers as well as critics and gained strong word of mouth. Also it has emerged as the fastest and the third movie of superstar Akshay Kumar to enter in 200 crores club worldwide.
In its opening week, Toilet Ek Prem Katha witnessed excellent occupancy across the country and reported the business of 96.05 crores, including 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays. In the second week, it recorded usual drop but remained strong and did the business of 28.35 crores including 19 crores of weekend and 9.35 crores of weekdays.
In the third week, Toilet Ek Prem Katha faced more drop and raked the decent amount of 7 crores including 4.50 crores of weekend and 2.50 crores of weekdays. After 3 weeks of release, total collection of the film was recorded as 131.40 crores at domestic box office. Now it is running in the fourth week and has biggie Baadshaho in opposite along with Bhumi’s new film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
On the 4th Friday, Toilet Ek Prem Katha recorded almost 64% of drop than previous day and minted 0.20 crore. On the next day, being Saturday it showed little rise and raked 0.37 crore. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, it added the amount of 0.52 crore to its account. With this, 24 days total collection of the movie has become 132.49 crores net on domestic box office.
