The second super hit movie of Akshay Kumar in this year, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is heading break-free on box office despite fresh releases. It still has good hold over audience and witnessing decent response across the country. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has already become the third highest grossing movie of the year and Akshay’s career so far with excellent performance through out in last 2 weeks.
As expected it has received very favorable response from its viewers as well as critics and as a result gained strong word of mouth. In the opening week, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha recorded superb occupancy and did the business of 96.05 crores on domestic box office, including 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays.
Then in the second week, it had new release Bareilly Ki Barfi which undoubtedly performed well on box office but didn’t hamper the run of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The movie remained strong and collected the amount of 28.35 crores including 19 crores of weekend and 9.35 crores of weekdays.
After two weeks, total collection of Shree Narayan Singh’s directorial satirical comedy drama was recorded as 124.40 crores on domestic box office. Now it is running in the third weekend and recorded usual drop in its occupancy due to the fresh Hindi releases Gentleman, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz and Qaidi Band but still stands almost steady as its shows have increased in the third week.
On its third Friday, it faced more drop as compare to Thursday and added the amount of 1 crore to its account. With this, total 15 days domestic collection of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has become 125.40 crores across India.
