Two of weeks back released the Toilet Ek Prem Katha (TEPK), has passed its 2nd week too on a very good note and also has emerged as the 8th movie of superstar Akshay Kumar to enter in 100 crore club domestically. It received very positive reviews from audience as well as most of the critics and registered excellent business in the opening week. Due to strong word of mouth, the movie still has much hold over the audience and witnessed good response in the second week too.
Director Shree Narayan Singh’s this recent venture witnessed terrific occupancy throughout the opening week and did the excellent business of 96.05 crores from Indian screens, which was including 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays. In the second week too, it remained strong despite the several new Hindi offerings – Bareilly Ki Barfi, Vip 2 Lalkar and partition 1947.
In the second weekend, Toilet Ek Prem Katha reported the business of 19 crores with 4 crores of Friday, 6.75 crores of Saturday and 8.25 crores of Sunday. Then in weekdays, the movie recorded lesser footfalls in theaters than before but managed to collect the decent amount of 2.50 crores of Monday, 2.60 crores of Tuesday and 2.25 crores of Wednesday.
On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, this satirical comedy drama faced little more drop and minted the amount of 2 crores. With this, its 2 weeks total collection has become 124.40 crores on domestic box office. Now from the third week, it has Raj & D.K’s A Gentleman in opposite, so let see who it will perform.
