Superstar Akshay Kumar’s last week released satirical comedy drama Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has already emerged as his 8th movie to enter in 100 crore club domestically and now heading to achieve more height. Due to high initial buzz, it started the journey with immense excitement of fans as well as audience and received very favorable response from everyone.
From its very first day, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is getting very amazing response from audience and still has good hold over them. So it is positively expected to remain steady after its second week also, opposite to A Gentleman which is being released on 25 August. From critics also, the movie has received very positive reviews and gained strong word of mouth.
As a result, it reported excellent business of 96.05 crores in the opening week from Indian screens, which has included 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays. Now director Shree Narayan Singh’s this recent venture is running in the second week and cashed the weekend on a good note despite several new Hindi offerings.
It did the business of 19 crores in its second weekend, including 4 crores of Friday, 6.75 crores of Saturday and 8.25 crores of Sunday. After 10 days of release, total collection of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was recorded as 115.05 crores on domestic box office. Once again the movie is in weekdays and asusual getting lesser footfalls in theaters than before.
With almost 35% of drop than Friday, Akshay starrer managed to collect the decent amount of 2.50 crores on Monday and 2.60 crores on Tuesday. On the next day i.e. Wednesday, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha minted the amount of 2.25 crores with little more drop and made its 13 days net domestic total as 122.40 crores.
