Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which received a superb response at the box office has collected 96.05 crores in 1 week, thus turning out to be a superhit affair at the domestic market. Superstar Akshay Kumar’s film has entered the 100 crore club on its 8th day at the box office. Due to strong word of mouth, the movie still has good hold over the audience across India and heading dominantly despite new releases.
Everyone liked this Shree Narayan Singh’s directorial satirical comedy and showed big thumbs for it. Critics have also reviewed it with positive comments, which is attracting more audience towards Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. As a result it has now become the fifth highest grossing movie of the year so far by surpassing the lifetime total of Jolly LLB 2 (117 crores)
In the opening week, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha witnessed excellent occupancy through out and thoroughly enjoyed two extra holidays due to Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan. It did the business of 96.05 crores in first 7 days on domestic box office, including 51.45 crores of weekend and 40.60 crores of weekdays.
In its second weekend too, the movie reported impressive performance and raked total 19 crores with 4 crores of Friday, 6.75 crores of Saturday and 8.25 crores of Sunday. After 10 days, total collection of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was recorded as 115.05 crores from Indian screens
Once again now Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is running in weekdays and asusual getting lesser occupancy. On its second Monday, it recorded almost 25% of drop than Friday and added the amount of 2.60 crores to its account. With this total 11 days collection of the movie has become 117.65 crores.
Co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey. The film also stars with Anupam Kher and Sana Khan in supporting roles. The film is written by Sidhharth and Garima, the writers of the 2013 Hindi film Goliyon Ki Raas Leela Ram Leela.
