Upcoming Bollywood movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar is all set to hit the screens this Friday i.e 11th August 2017. This film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and written by Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal, the writers of the 2013 Hindi film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, and shares some similarities with a true event in which 19-year old Priyanka Bharti fled her husband’s home in 2012, when there was no toilet.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, TEPK is buzzing among fans as well as moviegoers since the time when it’s announcement was made. Also with the promos, it has gained good hype among audience. So this highly buzzed and star powered movie could bring springtime back at box office. Akshay Kumar has been pretty consistent when it comes to ensuring a good and reliable first day at the Box Office.
Traditionally, his films have opened in 13-15 crore range and that typically ensures that they are set to land in a safe zone. Given the kind of cost of production that his films carry (minus his remuneration of course, which is taken care of by the fact that he is a producer in almost all his films) that has a range of 20-25 crore, profits are not a concern.
Talking of performances, Akshay Kumar delivers one of the best performances of his career in this film as he has been doing in his recent hits too. He’s as convincing as the serious action performer; it’s difficult to imagine anyone else in the role. As on the whole Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a good pack of entertainment and fulfills all the conditions of a good film, therefore we can expect its opening day collection to be outstanding and touch lifetime total of at least 110-120 crores if public accepts it same way as the critics have done.
