“Tanu Weds Manu Returns” and “Piku”, which are both purely content driven, have gone to be the biggest movies of Bollywood in 2015 in terms of box office collection. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the total collection of the film in India has reached Rs 62.95 crore. The movie therefore is on its way to be the biggest Bollywood grosser of 2015 in India. Meanwhile, “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” is also doing a great job at overseas box office with total five days collection of Rs 22 crore. At the same time , Deepika Padukone-Amitabh Bachchan starrer “Piku”, which was expected to enter the Rs 100 crore club soon, has slowed down after the release of “Tanu Weds Manu Returns.”

Tanu Weds Manu Returns maintained a steady pace at the Domestic Box Office, even in its week days. On its 1st Thursday, the film collected 7.07 crores , taking its 7 days total to 70.02 crores nett. Made on a budget of 30 crores, including P & A, this Aanand L. Rai film has doubled its investment and has made 100% profit for its makers. Undoubtedly, the film is heading for a 100 crore mark. The film has high chances to score well in its 2nd week and might soon emerge as 2015’s 1st 100 crore film, a feat which hasn’t been achieved by Akshay Kumar’s Baby or Gabbar Is Back. The story of ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ starts from where the prequel ended. It shows what happens to the lead pair after four years of having their marriage on the rocks. Starring R. Madhavan as Kangana’s husband, the movie is winning applause for its entertainment value.
