Talvar (Talwar) First 1st Day Collection – Opening Day Box Office Business Report

Talwar 1st Day Box Office Collection

Irrfan Khan starrer “Talvar” will have a good opening at the domestic box office. In addition, with 2 October (Gandhi Jayanti) holiday across the country, the film will register good occupancy at the box office. The advance booking report shows that the single screen occupancy is around 25 to 30%. Meghna Gulzar’s directorial film “Talvar” is an investigating thriller featuring Irrfan, Konkonna Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi. “Talvar” might not have an opening as good as “Singh Is Bliing”, but it will start on a good note. “Talvar” is backed by positive reviews, which will help its opening day occupancy at the box office. However, the approximate opening day occupancy and collection will be known by the end of the day. Talvar is a fictional dramatization of true life events revolving around the Aarushi Talvar murder case investigation. Known as the ‘Noida Double Murder Case’, it happened in the city adjoining India’s capital, Delhi, in 2008. The incident still resonates in the minds of the public, as there is no sense of closure in the case in spite of a guilty verdict – the parents of the murdered girl have been sentenced to life for killing her. This thriller is a work of fiction which is based on one if the most intriguing and talked about murder cases in recent Indian history.

Talvar Opening Day Box Office Business

A very good film with rave reviews coming from the Toronto International Film Festival, the film has all going for it, including an impressive cast of Irrfan and Konkona Sen Sharma. Moreover, it has the name Vishal Bhardwaj attached to it. Still, unlike Haider v/s Bang Bang clash last year which was hyped to the extreme, there is hardly any clash per se with Talvar just not seeing any hype around it. The promotion too has been hardly visible. The film is seeing a limited release and would entirely depend on word of mouth, which is expected to be good. Talvar opened to great numbers in the urban market, taking a solid start in the metro cities. An estimated Rs 5 crore* should be in the film’s kitty by the end of the day. The Tamil entertainer Puli, which has also been released in a dubbed format in Hindi, didn’t do as well as its contemporaries and may not have a huge opening day collection to speak of.
