“Surya Vs Surya” has done brilliant collection at the worldwide box office in its four-day-extended first weekend. It has become the biggest opener for Nikhil Siddhartha, beating the business record of his previous release “Karthikeya”. The huge success of Nikhil’s last releases “Swamy Ra Ra” and “Karthikeya” had led to higher expectations from his latest outing “Surya Vs Surya”, whose promos have garnered a lot of attention from the viewers. In addition, the makers had massive promotion for it. The film was successful in registering around 60% advance booking for its opening day. Riding on huge hype, “Surya Vs Surya” released in around 500 screens across the globe on 5 March and opened to very good response. The film registered an average of 85 per cent occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes on Thursday. The film ran to packed houses in many centres. Having garnered positive word from the viewers, “Surya Vs Surya” fared well on the following days.

The makers are yet to reveal numbers of the movie. If we are to go by early trends, the film has collected approximately Rs.5 crore nett at the worldwide box office in its four-day-extended first weekend. Nikhil Siddhartha’s last release “Karthikeya”, which released in around 300 screens, has collected Rs.2.5 crore nett at the worldwide box office in the first weekend. Having maintained rock-steady at the ticket counters, the film has raked in Rs.6 crore nett at the worldwide box office in two weeks. The four-day collection of “Surya Vs Surya” is almost close to the 14-day total of “Karthikeya”. Nikhil Siddhartha is excited about the overwhelming response that “Surya Vs Surya” has received and he thanked the viewers for getting hat-trick success with this film. Soon after the movie released, the actor visited several theatres in Hyderabad, Kukkatpallya and few other cities to see the viewers’ response.
