3 Days Total Collection of Bank Chor & Super Singh
Bollywood moviegoers were treated to two movies on June 16 – Bank Chor and Phullu – but none of them managed to impress the audience or clock good numbers at the box office. However, Diljit Dosanjh’s Punjabi flick Super Singh performed better than the other two flicks at the box office.
Highly promoted Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi starrer Bank Chor unfortunately got a poor opening and reviews as well. This comic caper received good buzz on social media because of it’s unique marketing campaign, but got failed to attract audience toward theaters. On the opening day, Bank Chor reported overall 10% of occupancy across the country and did the business of 1.40 crores.
On Saturday, instead of growth it faced little drop and minted the amount of 1.66 crores. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, Bank Chor witnessed slight drop due to India Vs Pakistan Final Cricket Match and garnered the business of 1.28 crores. With this, it’s opening weekend total collection has become 4.34 crores on domestic box office from around 700 screens.
On the other hand, Pollywood superstar Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa starrer super hero Punjabi movie Super Singh received favorable response from fans as well as audience and performed impressively throughout the opening weekend. On an excellent note, Anurag Singh’s directorial started it’s journey and registered the 3rd highest opening of Diljit’s career so far with 1.80 crores of business.
On Saturday, it remained strong and minted the amount of 2.05 crores. Then on Sunday because of India v/s Pakistan cricket match, it recorded lower footfalls than expected and minted 1.90 crores. With this, opening weekend total collection of the movie has become 5.75 crores. Major contribution in the business is made from Punjabi and Delhi.
