Sultan Advance Booking Status Report
The wait is finally over. Director Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed that Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer “Sultan” is all set to kick up a storm at the box office starting July 6 and the hype can be seen from its advance booking. “Sultan” advance booking counter has already opened at the UAE-GCC box office and has received a phenomenal response, according to reports. The unique promotion strategy of Yash Raj Films, producer of “Sultan,” has attracted more moviegoers to the cinema hall. Coming to the advance bookings of Sultan, then though advance booking is yet to begin in many circuits, the early trends are very positive from the partial advance booking. It looks like we are in for some earth shattering numbers. Advance booking shave started in most of the main cities especially the metropolitan cities and it is going on very outstandingly.
It has started partially in fewer parts of the country starting from major cities like Mumbai & Pune where the booking initialized much before. Speaking of Pune, the advance booking is really strong in multiplexes. Saturday and Sunday shows are being sold really fast in the city. Delhi – NCR circuit has also shown nice advance bookings for the popular multiplexes. Early trends of advance bookings are quite high in Bangalore where the procedure started two days back. Yet the advance booking are to be started in many main cities Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida and Gurgaon, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata etc where the bookings have just started. Advance booking collection can’t be judged yet and there are few more days for the film to book its advance tickets.
The expectations are riding very high on the movie and all major cinema halls are showing 85% plus occupancy for Salman Khan & Anushka Sharma’s Sultan. Even before 4 day of the actual release, the cinema halls are totally booked for first day shows in most of the cities. Sultan is releasing approx 5100 screens* worldwide. In regions of Mumbai, the booking status was 55% and this is advance booking status for Sultan and 60% is in the regions of North India including cinemas located in NCR, New Delhi region. States like West Bengal and Karnataka are showing around 82% occupancy status before the release.
Sultan has created history in advance sales by taking in sales worth 22-23 crore nett apprx. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo had set records last year with around 15 crore nett in pre release sales. This is the highest amount ever collected pre release and the highest number in ticket solds pre release. Obviously in terms of percentage of tickets sold against the total it is not simply because of the huge number of tickets available..
Seeing the advance booking status and occupancy report of Sultan all over India then it is sure that undoubtedly there will be a house full banner before the day of release. The film has already collected so much from advance booking and true figures will be updated very soon before one day of release as the film is right now still on the advance booking phase. Overall, the film is set to take a big start at the worldwide box office, thanks to Eid al-Fitr holidays.
