Salman Khan’s Sultan, slowly, but surely, has cracked the 300-crore ceiling and is finally a part of the Rs. 300-crore club. After Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the wrestling film Sultan is now Salman’s second film to have grossed over Rs 300 crore at the box office. Salman, since 2009’s Wanted, has been the undisputed king of the box office. The box office success of Sultan further cements his status of serial hit-maker at the box office. In the 9-days opening week, is registered outstanding business of 229.16 crores including 180.36 crores of 5-days weekend and 48.80 crores of weekdays.


In the next week, the movie had adult comedy Great Grand Masti in opposite but successfully maintained a decent pace and raked 48.80 crores with 34.07 crores of second weekend and 14.73 crores of weekdays. Then in the third week due to superstar Rajinikanth’s much awaited Tamil offering Kabali, Sultan reported little higher drop in its business but managed to secured decent total of 15.84 crores at the end, with 11.09 crores of weekend and 4.75 crores of weekdays. In fourth week, it had Dishoom in opposite and minted 4.43 crores including 3.06 crores of weekend and 1.37 crore of weekdays.

Now Sultan is running in its fifth week and due to no big release, it has reported almost steady run and did the business of 1.51 crore in the weekend including 0.24 crore of Friday, 0.49 crores of Saturday and 0.78 crores of Sunday. After the fifth week, total collection of the movie was recorded as 299.74 crores across the country. Once again, Salman Khan starrer is in weekdays and as usual getting lower footfall in theaters. With slight drop than last Friday, it minted the amount of 0.16 crore on Monday and the same 0.16 crore on Tuesday.

On the next day i.e. Wednesday, it recorded slight more drop and likely to add the amount of 0.15 crore to its account. With this, total 36 days domestic collection of Sultan will become 300.21 crores. Sultan is, now, the third film to have grossed over Rs 300 crore domestically at the box office after 2015’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan and 2014’s Aamir Khan-starrer PK. In fact, Anushka Sharma is, now, the only actor to have been a part of two 300 -crore films, PK and Sultan.
