Sultan Fifth Day Box Office Collection
Sultan is a Salman Khan film which is enough to imagine how much it must have earned. We told you about the 35 records that the film made within a few days of its release which includes biggest Eid opener, highest opening day of 2016, highest collection in advance bookings, Highest opening day collection for a sports based films, #Highest collection on a Wednesday, #Highest opening day occupancy of 2016 and many more. It even made 100 crore in just three days and continued its gallant run without flinching. But strangely, it has been finding it difficult to touch the 300 crore mark since a few days now.
In the fourth week, new Hindi release Dishoom was in opposite to Sultan but still it maintained a steady pace and minted the amount of 4.43 crores. Now the movie is running in its fifth week and due to no new big release, registered decent business total in the weekend. In the fifth weekend, it did the business of total 1.51 crore including 0.24 crore of Friday, 0.49 crore of Saturday and 0.78 crore of Sunday. After 33 days, total collection of Sultan was recorded as 299.74 crores net on domestic box office and around 582 crores at worldwide box office.
Once again, Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial is in weekdays and asusual witnessing lower response than before. On its 5th Monday, Sultan reported almost 30% of drop than last Friday and estimated to add the amount of 0.16 crore to its account. With this, total 34 days domestic collection of the movie will become 299.90 crores.
We agree it’s the fifth week and definitely numbers will start dwindling rapidly. But being stagnant on 298-299 for so long is pretty strange. For some reason a film that earned so much in just two-three days of its release, is struggling to even hit the 300 cr, forget about going past it.
