Sultan 27th Day Collection: 4th Monday Performance Report

Box Office: 27th Day Collection of Sultan

Superstar Salman Khan is refusing to say die! Sultan collection has risen by just Rs 1.05 crore to take the big India-based number to Rs 293.80 crore even as he eyes a massive milestone – the Rs 300 cr club entry. Like in James Bond movies, Salman thinks a last gasp effort will turn a certain setback, albeit minor, into a huge victory. But unlike the British spy thriller where umpteen attempts are not made to script a victory after one has already been secured and the curtain is brought down to everyone’s relief, Salman thinks he does need to do the very opposite. Success+ is his mantra, presumably.

Now the movie is running in its fourth week and has new Hindi offering Dishoom in opposite. On Friday it witnessed considerable drop than previous day and did the business of 0.57 crore. On Saturday, being weekend it showed little rise in its business and minted the amount of 0.98 crore. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, being holiday Sultan started the day on a better note and recorded decent growth from evening shows. As per the report, it is estimated to add the amount of around 1.51 crore to its account on 26th day. With this, total collection of the movie will become 296.86 crores nationwide.

Sultan after facing both sides- record breaking and amenable public response in first 2 weeks & low and dull income plus audience feedback in the next two week has managed to collect around 297.20 Crores as total 27 days Box Office Collection including the 27th Day Income of around 0.34 crore.  It is no one’s case that Sultan is not a successful movie. It is! Any movie that has logged Rs 562.76 cr by day 23 is triumph personified. But Salman Khan wants the Rs 300 cr club entry desperately and is willing to keep his movie in cinemas chugging away regally, but as for as keen watchers of the industry are concerned it is happening in painfully slow-motion.

There is nothing in it for the actor as far as can be seen. He needed to overtake Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 to become the No. 2 film in India and that he achieved with ease, courtesy the momentum the film created in its extended opening weekend and thereafter cruised to the new record. His movie remains in that spot as far as its India collections are concerned. However, this huge achievement was soon eclipsed by another movie.
