Just like the week before, even the current week hasn’t been going too well for Bollywood. Just around 20 crore came in between Simran and Lucknow Central, which is hardly anything to celebrate. Yes, the only consolation is that the outcome is better than last week’s releases Poster Boys and Daddy. Apart from these two films, Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal starrer Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi had also hit the theaters but it seems the film did not manage to bring any audience.

Simran and Lucknow Central 4th Day Collection, Remains Low on 1st Monday

One of the most talented Bollywood actresses Kangana Ranaut starrer Simran is a drama movie, directed by the promising story teller Hansal Mehta. The actress has given excellent performance as always but this time the director got failed to leave a mark on audience as well as critics.

Simran started it’s journey on a dull note and remained lower-than-expected throughout the opening weekend. It did the business of 10.65 crores in the weekend, that included 2.77 crore of Friday, 3.76 crores of Saturday and 4.12 crores of Sunday.

Now it has been entered in weekdays and started getting lower occupancy than before due to normal working days. On Monday, Simran witnessed more than 34.3% of drop than Friday and minted 1.41 crore to raise it’s 4 days domestic total to 12.06 crores.

On the other hand, Ranjit Tiwari’s debut directorial Lucknow Central is a prison escape drama inspired by a true incident. It stars Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Gippy Grewal, Ronit Roy and many other talented actors who have given solid performances, but still due to weak script the movie received mixed reviews from critics.

It did the business of 8.42 crores in the opening weekend, with 2.04 crore of Friday, 2.82 crore of Saturday and 3.56 crore of Sunday. Now it is in weekdays and collected the amount of 1.14 crore on Monday with heavy drop than Friday. With this, total 4 days collection of Lucknow Central has become 9.56 crores.
