Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is weaving magic at the box office. Directed by RS Prasanna and written by Hitesh Kewalya, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has seen a growth in the footfall in theatres. The film has already raked in Rs 19.84 crore in five days of its release and the figures are only expected to go higher.
The film has received a lot of positive word of mouth, something that has been instrumental in the success of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, a remake of director RS Prasanna’s 2013 Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Saadham, opened to only Rs 2.71 crore on its first Friday. After its first three days at the box office, the film has seen good numbers at the ticket windows.
On the next day i.e. Saturday due to Eid holiday and positive word of mouth, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan took an impressive jump of around 105% than Friday and minted the amount of 5.56 crores. Then on Sunday as well, it showed more growth and raked the amount of 6.19 crores and made it’s opening weekend domestic total 14.46 crores.
Now it is running in weekdays and asusual getting lesser footfalls in theaters than before. On Monday, the film faced only 8.50% of drop than Friday and added the amount of 2.53 crore to it’s account. Then on Tuesday, it reported slight jump and collected 2.85 crores. On the next day i.e Wednesday, Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer minted 2.12 crore with 22% of drop than previous day.
With this, total collection of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan after 6 days of release has become 21.96 crores at domestic box office. It seems to collect around 24 crores in the first week. Apart from Ayushmann and Bhumi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan stars Chittaranjan Tripathy, Neeraj Sood, Seema Pahwa and Brijendra Kala in pivotal roles. The film clashed with Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi-starrer Baadshaho at the box office.
