This RS Prasanna directed film has emerged as yet another neat mid-budget success for Bollywood after Bareilly Ki Barfi.

Despite the kind of subject on which no mainstream Hindi film has ever been made before, this Krishika Lulla and Aanand L. Rai production is working well with audiences at the multiplexes and that has given it a very solid footing now. A family drama based on Erectile Dysfunction based on the plot of a wedding – this is something which would’ve been rejected a few years back.

Presented by Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has received mixed reviews from critics but most of the audience has found it entertaining and reacting in favor.  On the opening day, it recorded an average occupancy across India due to clash with Baadshaho and did the business of only 2.71 crores from 1400 screens across the country

On the next day i.e. Saturday due to Eid holiday and positive word of mouth, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan took an impressive jump of around 105% than Friday and minted the amount of 5.56 crores. Then on Sunday as well, it showed more growth and raked the amount of 6.19 crores and made it’s opening weekend domestic total 14.46 crores. Now the movie is in weekdays and witnessing considerable drops in it’s business graph.

On Monday, it recorded a dip of approx. 8.50% than Friday and did the business of 2.53 crores. Then on the next day i.e. Tuesday, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan minted the amount of 2.85 crores with decent jump and raised it’s 5 days domestic total to 19.84 crores. However, it has been shot in picturesque locations of Delhi and Haridwar. Even their last release together Dum Laga Ke Haisha was also filmed at these locations.
