Secret Superstar 1st Day Collection, Takes a Decent Start with Positive Response

Secret Superstar tells the story of Insia (Zaira Wasim), a teenager from Vadodara who aspires to be a singer. However, she faces opposition from her short-tempered and violent father, who sees music as nothing more than a girlish hobby. Insia lives her dream of becoming a singing sensation through YouTube, where she remains an anonymous face hidden behind a burkha, simply known as Secret Superstar. Insia’s journey to fame is what forms the rest of the plot.

Besides promoting it heavily, Aamir Khan had a special screening of Secret Superstar for many celebs from films, politics and cricket and made them share their verdicts, which have received maximum coverage on media. After seeing its massive hype and promotions, trade analysts had predicted that the film would get a big opening and end the dry season prevailing for a long time in the Hindi film industry.

Secret Superstar had a huge advance booking in circuits like Delhi and Mumbai, where it registered a fantastic amount of occupancy in the morning shows. But it lacked a fare amount of bookings in other areas of domestic market.

The movie has registered an average of 30% occupancy in opening shows in the domestic market. As per the report, it has done the business of 4.80 crores and positively expected to take decent jump on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Multiplexes have witnessed much higher response than single screen cinemas, as the movie is running excellent in metro cities.

Secret Superstar is expected to witness a massive boost over the weekend, thanks to great reviews and positive word of mouth. It looks like the Diwali holidays will definitely benefit the two big releases but attracting a big chunk of audiences. However, the clash will also affect the earnings at the Box Office of both the movies.
