As speculated, the politics surrounding Vijay’s Sarkar has only helped the film to set the box office on fire. According to reports, the film has now touched the Rs 238-crore mark at the box office worldwide. Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sarkar is about the story of NRI called Sundar Ramaswamy, whose fight for his one vote changes the fate of Tamil Nadu.
Starring Thalapathy Vijay & Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, Sarkar has received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience and gained a solid word of mouth. As a result, it is getting an excellent response at the box office.
AR Murugadoss’s directorial showed a healthy jump over the 6-days extended weekend due to Diwali holiday and did the business of 90.25 crores that included 31.60 crores on Tuesday, 18.50 crores on Wednesday, 12.75 crores on Thursday, 10.40 crores on Friday, 8 crores on Saturday & 9 crores on Sunday.
Then on weekdays as well, it remained strong and minted the amount of 6.50 crores on Monday, 5.50 crores on Tuesday and 4.75 crores on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Thursday, it collected 4 crores and raised 10 days total collection to 111 crores gross from 650+ screens across Tamil Nadu.
Overall at the worldwide box office, Sarkar is performing excellently and has done the business of total 231 crores from 3000+ screens that included 67 crores on day-1, 35 crores on day-2, 30.50 crores on day-3, 25 crores on day-4, 22.50 crores on day-5, 20 crores on day-6, 12.50 crores on day-7, 10 crores on day-8, 8.50 crores on day-9 and 7 crores on day 10.
