Sarbjit Trailer is Out Now
The makers of “Sarbjit” have released the film’s trailer, which features Randeep Hooda, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Richa Chadha. The Omung Kumar directorial is based on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian jailed in Pakistan after being convicted of terrorism and spying in the country. Randeep plays the character of Sarabjit, while Aishwarya will be seen in the role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur. While Sarabjit was awarded death sentence, he died after his jail inmates attacked him in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat prison.
The story revolves around Dalbir’s brave and unending fight to get her brother released from the Pakistani prison. The movie also features Richa Chadha, who plays Sarabjit’s wife, and “Mary Kom” actor Darshan Kumaar in a pivotal role. He has been roped in to play Khalid Pervaiz, a Pakistani lawyer who fights Sarabjit’s case. In the trailer, Aishwarya’s performance will give you goosebumps. According to Twitter reactions, the trailer received a standing ovation at the launch event and Twitterati say that the trailer is mind-blowing.
The trailer shows Dalbir’s fight for her brother’s release that somehow unites the entire nation. On the other hand, Randeep as Sarabjit also tries to prove his innocence while serving jailtime, but fails miserably. The glimpse of the movie shows that Richa and Darshan have also given a brilliant performance. Omung has gathered a strong cast to showcase Sarabjit Singh’s story and it looks promising. While the former Miss World impressed viewers in her de-glam avatar, Randeep surprised fans with his first look. The handsome hunk looked so weak that his bone structure was prominent. It was in a scene when Sarabjit was in jail.
Randeep had reportedly lost 18 kgs within 28 days to get into the character and then gained weight within 20 days as the director wanted to shoot a few flashback scenes. Scheduled to be released May 20, the biopic is being produced by Sandeep Singh, Zeeshan Quadri and Omung Kumar. It is expected to be released at the Cannes Film Festival as well.
