Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju has received almost positive reviews from critics and is being liked by all the audience. Due to good hype and positive word of mouth, the movie is running very smoothly at box office in weekdays as well.
It is based on the real life events of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who was a drug addict and he faced a lot of issues in his young days. The trailer and posters left everyone stunned as Ranbir successfully donned Sanjay’s look and it was on-point.
With high initial buzz, the movie was released on Friday and as expected got a phenomenal start and registered biggest opening of 2018 in Bollywood with the business of 34.75 crores. By keeping the pace maintained, it did the business of 38.60 crores on Saturday and 46.71 crores on Sunday.
After the opening weekend, total collection of Sanju was recorded as 120.06 crores from around 4000 screens across the country. Now the movie is running in weekdays and getting lesser footfalls in theaters than before but still has strong hold over the audience.
Now it is running on weekdays and still has a super-solid hold over the audience nationwide. On Monday, Fox Star Studios’ presentation faced a drop of 27.05% than Friday and minted 25.41 crores.
With a further decline, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s production garnered the business of 22.10 crores on Tuesday. On the next day i.e. Wednesday, it bagged the amount of 18.90 crores and raised 6 days total collection to 186.41 crores at the domestic box office.
Along with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles, while Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor and Boman Irani supporting roles.
